Well, we are at two weeks and counting. I can't believe that summer is winding down so fast. The cooler weather makes it seem more like May, not August. The weather may be fooling me, but not the calendar. I still do not know who my students are going to be, yet. I can't wait to find out! I have been getting new reading bags ready to go for our Weekly Reading Take Home, getting birthday presents ready for the year, new pillows, all sorts of treats, and of course new books (that is my weakness-books!). This will be a very busy week for me. Make sure you breathe in and out the last few days of summer; but don't worry, we will spend time outside for recess and maybe even some reading! Can't wait to meet you!
Three weeks from tonight will be our last night before school officially starts. I can't believe it! Summer is still in full swing for this household. I'm still working in my garden area, reading in my pajamas, and enjoying my breakfasts in the sunroom. Once school starts no time for pulling weeds, reading consists of grading papers, and breakfast is coffee and a grain bar in the car. But, in all honesty, I am starting to get ready to meet all of you! I've been shopping for new posters, new containers, new chapter books, and new math and language arts activities. I can't wait to meet all of you. It will be hard for the teacher to go to sleep the night before second grade, too! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
